Investors can obtain permanent residency in Cyprus by making an investment of at least €300,000 in real estate or securities.
Purchasing real estate is the most popular option, chosen by around 90% of applicants for permanent residency.
The status is also granted to the investor’s family members: a spouse and children.
Cyprus offers a low overall tax burden, making it a popular choice for investors looking to relocate their businesses.

The corporate tax rate is just 15%, and residents are exempt from taxes on foreign income, dividends, and capital gains.
After 8 years of living in the country, investors can apply for a Cypriot passport and gain visa‑free access to 168 countries.
7 benefits of Cyprus permanent residency
  • Right to live in an EU country
Cyprus permanent residents are allowed to live in the country without restrictions. However, they don’t need to reside in Cyprus permanently: it’s enough to visit at least once every two years to maintain the status.
  • Opportunity to own a business in Cyprus
Investors are allowed to conduct business in Cyprus; they can establish a new company or invest in a local one. The corporate tax rate is 15%.
  • Status for the whole family
An investor is allowed to include their spouse and children in the application. Adult children must be financially dependent on the investor, enrolled in a university, and unmarried.
  • Prospect of Cyprus citizenship
Permanent residents may obtain Cyprus citizenship by naturalisation. Foreigners are eligible to apply if they have legally resided in the country for 8 out of the past 11 years. In the year before applying, they must not have spent more than 90 days outside the country in total.

Cyprus citizenship allows visa–free travel to 168 countries, including the Schengen states, the UK, and Canada.

  • Permanent residence by investment in real estate
Buying real estate in Cyprus is a reliable investment. The local property market shows consistent growth. Demand for rental housing remains high due to tourists, expats, and digital nomads.

  • Returnable investment
Investors may retrieve the funds they invested under the program after obtaining ordinary permanent residence or Cyprus citizenship by naturalisation. Otherwise, they are required to keep the purchased property or securities.

  • High-quality education and healthcare
Holders of permanent residence permits may enrol their children in schools and universities in Cyprus and receive treatment in local clinics. Emergency care is provided free of charge, even to tourists.
